Carolyn Brown, MS RD
Meet Carolyn
Carolyn has been in private practice for a decade before launching the nutrition arm of Indigo Wellness Group. She has worked one-on-one and in group settings with thousands of clients to reach their health, wellness and weight goals, specializing in helping them “live a healthy life, without losing a social life”. Carolyn gets it, the complicated food history, the feeling exhausted all the time, the weight fluctuations, the body frustrations, the knowing what to do but not doing it, because she has been there too.
It’s about food, but it’s also not at all about food.
In her client sessions, Carolyn loves to hear your story, to put things together you might not have thought of, and to personalize your goals and your wellness plan. Think of this as going to food therapy, with your labs analyzed and the options for GI Map gut testing or DUTCH hormone testing.
As for credentials, Carolyn went to Tulane University for undergrad in psychology and to NYU for her Masters in Clinical Nutrition before becoming licensed as a Registered Dietitian. She also studied under Dr. Aviva Romm in 2018-2019 and is certified in Women’s Functional and Integrative Medicine. She aligns with holistic & integrative nutrition and believes in the power of food first (but some supplements may come in second!). Carolyn is currently completing an herbalism & botanicals course, so teas & tinctures may be part of your plan when applicable.
Carolyn has been featured on: The TODAY show, Dr. Oz, FOX, Men's Health, health.com, CBS news, WebMD, TIME.com Refinery29, Cosmopolitan, Shape Magazine, Equinox Q Blog, AM New York, and the New York Daily News. Contact Carolyn about a media appearance and view a complete list of appearances here.

“Carolyn not only helped me lose 50 lbs but also has consistently provided me with advice and guidance that has allowed me to keep off the weight and stay healthy in the real world. It has never been about a diet, about cutting specific foods, or alcohol. She understood that was not a realistic way for me to live. She provided suggestions, recipes, and support through my journey. Carolyn also understood that nutrition was only one component of the journey, providing support on the newest exercise class or fitness trend. And most of all Carolyn is someone that I trust and consider a friend. She cares about her clients as more than just clients—their success is her success.
After losing the weight I ended up getting pregnant and having a beautiful baby boy—something doctor's told me I would never be able to do. I had lupus which is now in remission. I am no longer anemic. I am healthy, happy, and grateful. I would highly recommend Carolyn to anyone.” -Jennifer, 43
